The 18th DIT Annual Sports Awards takes place on Thursday 16th April in the Gleeson Theatre, DIT Kevin Street. Present on the night will be our Guest Speaker, Minister for Transport, Sport and Tourism Paschal Donohoe, Professor Brian Norton, President of DIT who will join guests of which include sports coaching personnel, volunteers and of course the principal guests on the night - the student members of the forty DIT Sports Clubs.
The DIT Sport and Recreation Service has developed a comprehensive programme of sports activities over the last number of years that caters from the novice to elite level. The Sports Awards aim to recognise the accomplishments of DIT students in their various codes on sporting fields and arenas in Ireland and abroad. The Awards event is also an opportunity to acknowledge some individual DIT students and staff members for their outstanding contribution to DIT Sports throughout the year.
The closing date for the receipt of nominations for a Club or Individual Award is no later than 5pm, Wednesday 1st April 2015. The judging panel will meet to review the nomination forms and only information provided on the nomination forms will be assessed when judging the different award categories. Clubs will be notified about their ticket allocations one week before the awards night.
