2016-17 New Scholars

48 new talented young sportspersons were honoured and formally awarded a place on the 2016-17 Elite Athelte Support Programme. The students represent a wide range of sports - from gaelic games, rugby and soccer to badminton, kayak and swimming - as well as a wide range of academic disciplines.

Guest of honour and current participant of the programme was Ellen Keane, Irish Paralympic Bronze medalist who was being formally honoured for her achievements at the Paralympic Games in Rio in August.
